LeBron James Becomes Kobe Bryant for Most Missed Shots in NBA History in 2024

LeBron James has missed 14,482 shots during his remarkable NBA career and counting till date.
As much as LeBron has proficient in the NBA-from scoring the very most points as well as logging the most minutes in professional basketball to sharing the hardwood with his son-there are certain records he’d prefer not to brag about.
Well, some people would say he’s the excellent basketball player of all the time, however, even he isn’t perfect. On Tuesday, LeBron reached a milestone he’d probably like to forget.
In 22nd year of doing so, LeBron missed his 14,476th shot, a number only behind Kobe Bryant’s record of 14,481 missed shots. Also, LeBron finally topped Bryant’s record of 14,482 missed field goals with 5:56 remaining in the third quarter of the Los Angeles Lakers season opener against the Minnesota Timberwolves, missing his sixth shot of the game-his total going up with each miss.
What’s more, the mistake in the match happened and so while the transition play being made by Wolves’ goalkeeper Donte DiVincenzo.
In and of itself, this figure isn’t likely to raise any eyebrows on an absolute scale. Remember, we are dealing here with the absolute sum of all field goal misses, not the percentage of the lowest success rate.
You would have to handle the ball much, much more than most players could ever imagine to have as many misses as James. Very, very few players would even attempt to take 14,882 shots, let alone miss as many. But James does manage to maintain possession of the ball frequently enough because of his immense control.
Of course, the all-time leading missers do little to discourage that view. The former record holder Bryant was a legend, of course. In fact, 27 of the players at the top of the career missed field goal list are current Hall of Famers or will be once their respective five year waiting periods have expired.
The first guy on this list who is not a lock for the Hall of Fame is Joe Johnson, coming in at number 28 with 9,897 misses, but he has still made it to seven All-Star teams. This is not a list of bad players.
If it were up to James, he probably wouldn’t want to have this record, but considering how much longer he’s going to be playing, he might set a record that will virtually be unbreakable. He definitely has at least one full season left and possibly a few more beyond that one.
He is the most wellassured to become the first NBA player ever to miss 15,000 shots-just like he was to score 40,000 points. The former accomplishment is less astounding, which doesn’t make him really embarrassed because the other is truly an imposing record.
