“We Robot” Event By Elon Musk the CEO of Tesla, reveals the highly anticipated self-driving taxi

The CEO of Tesla – Elon Musk disclosed the long-awaited self-driving taxi called Robotaxi” on Thursday, October 10, which has surprisingly “Open Doors & Lacks a Steering Wheel or Pedals”. What an unexpected twist over there, he also revealed a Robotic Van too, indicating a change in emphasis from reasonable cars for the public to completely automated vehicles.

At a glamorous event, Elon Musk made an appearance on stage in the “Cyber Cab,” set to start being produced in 2026 in high quantities and sold for less than $30,000. 

The event by Elon Musk, named “We, Robot,” which paid homage to Isaac Asimov’s science fiction short stories “I, Robot.” Elon Musk ingeminated that it is essential to see Tesla as an AI robotics company, not merely a car producer as well.

Following a nearly hour-long wait, said by Musk to be due to a medical emergency with a guest, the occasion, which required months of planning, lasted under 30 minutes and was viewed by approximately four million individuals solely on Musk’s social media outlet X.

Elon Musk stated that the cost of running the Cyber Cab would be 20 cents per mile in the long run, utilizing inductive charging which eliminates the need for plugs. The cost of Robotaxi operations would decrease further to just five cents per mile.

The cars would depend on artificial intelligence and cameras instead of widely-used technologies like LIDAR, which has been recognized as both technically and regulatory difficult by experts.

Elon Musk again praised that the elevations made with the human-like robot called “Optimus,” anticipated to cost starting from 20,000$ to 30,000$ and capable of carrying out a variety of daily tasks.

Moreover, Elon Musk confidently said that the Tesla would operational robot taxis by 2020 in the year 2019. Cost reductions intended to balance out the impact of high interest rates have also put a squeeze on benefits margins.

Waymo, a part of Alphabet, is the sole American company that runs autonomous taxi services without drivers, using approximately 700 Jaguar Land Rovers in its fleet.
